Homemade Gourmet Pizza

Step #1: Roll out dough on baking pan and slather with traditional tomato sauce

If you are going to a potluck, hosting a party, or having guests over, this is such a fun easy and EXTREMELY tasty dish to bring OR even make on site. YUM! It’s perfect!

Step #2: Chop up and sprinkle fresh basil on top of your sauce

So…firstly…DON’T GO MAKING YOUR OWN DOUGH. This is meant to be fun and easy, not “real” work.

Step #3: Chop up a large clove of garlic and fresh baby arugula and sprinkle on top.

INSTEAD…go to your local pizzeria and ask if you can buy some. I prefer whole wheat dough, especially when fashioning your own gourmet pizza.

Step #4: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated pecorino romano cheeze on top. Then drizzle a little bit of white truffle oil over the entire pie.

Then gather your company around the kitchen for some chatting, wine—or in my case, champagne—and cooking!

Do it my way…OR…explore your own version! Just remember, it’s always best when you keep it simple.

Step #5: Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until cheese lightly browns in some areas.

If you are doing it my way…here’s YOUR SHOPPING LIST:

  1. Pizza dough (from a pizzeria)
  2. Tomato sauce
  3. Fresh Basil
  4. Garlic (one large clove)
  5. Fresh Baby Arugula
  6. Pecorino Romano Cheese (small wedge)
  7. Shredded Mozzarella
  8. White Truffle Oil (Look in a gourmet grocery store for this, perhaps my post Agata & Valentina can help)
